The Hanover Inn is one of New Hampshire’s pre-eminent hotels, located directly on Main Street, steps from Hanover’s downtown retail stores, and across the street from the lovely Dartmouth Green (pictured above). The Daniel Webster dining room may be the best in town, but in the summer, dining on the terrace, overlooking the Green and Baker Tower, is legendary. Rates and Information

The Dowd’s Country Inn (Lyme) The Dowd’s country Inn, circa 1780, is a nicely restored, 24-room country inn (in the literal sense) on the picturesque Lyme Common. The inn features original, 200-year-old hand hewn beams and wide pine floors, and is well known for its cooked-to-order breakfasts. A particular favorite for skiers bound for the Dartmouth Skiway, three miles distant, and always a very nice year-round choice for families. Rates and Information

The Marriott Courtyard Inn (Lebanon) The Courtyard is the newest of a two Marriott Hotels at Centerra, less than a mile from the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and a five-minute ride into downtown Hanover. Proximate to several good restaurants, including Jesse’s and Margaritas. Rates and Information

The Marriott Residence Inn (Lebanon) The Residence Inn is located in the Centerra complex, a short (five-minute) drive from the center of Hanover, and about a one-minute ride from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. This is a good choice for anyone familiar with the Residence Inn brand, and a favorite for skiers in the winter. Proximate to several good restaurants, including Jesse’s and across the parking lot from Margaritas. A buffet breakfast is complimentary. Rates and Information

The Comfort Suites Inn (White River Junction) Located about ten minutes from downtown Hanover, the Comfort Suites is the newest of a cluster of hotels at the intersection of Interstates 89 and 91. The rooms are new and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. A nice, extended continental buffet breakfast is complimentary. Rates and Information
